Create a winter landscape in a day with Kate. (Examples shown are not representative of actual workshop pieces)

This will be a wonderful creative and seasonal day working with fabrics, threads and your sewing machine.

Kate will show you how to choose suitable colours and fabrics to create a winter scene. Kate will have examples for you to copy or adapt as you wish into something unique to you. You will collage together layers of fabrics and learn how to create wintery trees using net and stitching, and shadows on snow. Kate will show how to get more depth in your picture by using scale and perspective, as well as seasonal foreground interest, such as robins or seedheads.

Kate will provide a variety of fabrics and backing felt, bondaweb and other materials, but you may like to bring some of your own fabrics and threads too.

Kate will demonstrate using free-motion stitch for this project and if you have some knowledge of this it will give you more flexibility with your work. (You need a machine with the ability to drop the feed dog, and an embroidery foot)
