Looking forward to Thread this weekend -12th and 13th June. If you love textiles, you will love this show! I have been really impressed with all the safety measures in place here – plenty of space and a one way system too. I’ve got some fantastic new fabric panels to show you – so look forward to seeing you there!
I have a weekend retreat running on the 22nd/23rd May (see events) and there is still time to book!
I also have workshops coming up at Micklems Farm again – Spring Blossom on the 15th June and Kirigami for Textiles on the 30th June.
I’ll also be over in Harwich teaching at the Old Bank Studios on the 19th and 20th June. Hopefully a few more will be added as everything opens up again!
“Woodlands and Wildlife” is now available for preorder. Special price until the end of May!
This book follows on from “Landscape in Textiles” and has the same format, with 40 pages of full colour illustrations. It includes step by step example of how a woodland scene is made, how to make and use “confetti”, how to finish a picture for framing and a simple dye recipe for tray dyeing, as well as many examples of Kate’s woodlands and animals.
I can do zoom talks and workshops for your textiles group! My zoom talks are an hour long and are fully illustrated (Powerpoint presentation), with many examples of my work, and also lots of behind the scenes closeups of construction. A new and popular addition is the use of short videos showing how pieces are made. (including the blackbird illustration shown here) Contact me via the contact page for more details on all my talks and workshops. I am very happy to discuss ideas for new workshops with you too.
I have just added eight card designs to the shop with designs taken from my art textile series inspired by the Large Hadron Collider. This series was exhibited in 2012 round the UK, but still creates interest and forms part of my talk “Working in Series”. All card designs available now!
