Birch woodlands have such a distinct look, with their black and white trees. I found an excellent woodland not far from where I live which inspired this piece.
The fabrics are hand-dyed , and painted, then appliqued with free motion machine stitching before being stretched over a board, mounted, framed and glazed. This piece uses a confetti technique, with tiny fabric pieces being sprinkled on the surface and secured with net. The frame is a dark grey with a white mount – very fresh and contemporary. The glass is high quality UV glass.
Framed size is 57cm x 86cm square.
