Henley Angel is the classic view of Henley-on-Thames! It’s a view I have been meaning to do for ages, and I did enjoy making it. I’ve always had a fondness for slipper launches, so had to include one, but you cant have a Henley river scene without an eight in it too somewhere, so here they are just coming through the bridge.
The fabrics are hand-dyed, painted and printed, then appliqued, before being stretched over a board, mounted, framed and glazed. The frame is a stunning light grey frame with small silver edge detail with a white mount (and UV glass) – very fresh and contemporary.
This is a large piece – approx 80cm square.
