School Green Centre
Make a small bird piece (or two!) in raw edge applique. You will have a choice of birds to use from Kate’s “Birds” panel, included in the price.
Kate will demonstrate how to bond fabrics and create a background for your bird, as well as how to use free motion stitching to sew the piece together. Your designs can be finished with some hand stitched details as desired. Templates for leaf shapes will be available. Kate will also show you how to mount the piece onto a box frame, or foamboard to complete the work.
All fabrics will be provided and ideas for backgrounds given too. You will need your sewing machine and a few embroidery threads for hand sewing. Ideally, you will have had a go at free motion stitching, but do not need to be an expert at it! Full instructions will be sent nearer the time.
The School Green centre in Shinfield, where the workshop is to be held, has its own cafe selling a selection of drinks, cakes and sandwiches.
The cost for the day is £75
